Heritage & Cultural Center – Facility Rental & Event Use
The Heritage & Cultural Center at the Eastern Iowa Hindu Temple & Cultural Center offers flexible event spaces for private gatherings, community programs, and public-invited events. Our facilities are designed to accommodate a variety of cultural, educational, social, and community activities while providing an affordable and welcoming environment.
***Disclaimer: The total number of hours reserved must include all event decoration and setup time. We strongly suggest booking additional time to allow for decoration, setup, and cleanup. Please note that there is no guarantee that any unreserved hours before or after the event will be available for additional setup, decoration, or cleanup, as new reservations may be made before or after your event. There are no exemptions to this policy.
1. Community Center — Private Events
The Community Center is a spacious event facility suitable for ~200 guests and is available for private events such as family celebrations, receptions, cultural programs, meetings, and other gatherings.
- Rental Rate:Â $100 per hour
- Minimum Rental:Â 2 hours
- Kitchen Use:Â Additional flat fee of $100 (up to 8 hours)
- Capacity:Â ~200 people
- Event Type:Â Private events
The Community Center provides a larger setting for gatherings that require additional space for guests, activities, and event arrangements.
2. Community Center — Public-Invited Events
The Community Center may also be made available free of charge for eligible public-invited community, cultural, educational, or charitable events.
- Rental Fee:Â FREE (No kitchen available for public-invited events)
- Maximum Rental Period:Â Up to 3 hours
- Capacity:Â ~200 people
- Event Type:Â Public-invited events
This option is intended to support community engagement and programs that are open to the public.
3. Mini Hall — Private Events
The Mini Hall provides a smaller and more economical space for private gatherings and is suitable for ~50 guests. It is ideal for smaller celebrations, meetings, classes, workshops, and social gatherings.
- Rental Rate:Â $10 per hour (No kitchen available for this option)
- Minimum Rental:Â 2 hours
- Capacity:Â ~50 people
- Accessibility:Â The Mini Hall does not have handicap-accessible access.
- Event Type:Â Private events and reservations
The Mini Hall offers an affordable option for groups that do not require the larger Community Center.
4. Mini Hall — Public-Invited Events
The Mini Hall may be available free of charge for eligible public-invited community, cultural, educational, or charitable events.

- Maximum Rental Period:Â Up to 2 hours
- Capacity:Â ~50 people
- Accessibility:Â The Mini Hall does not have handicap-accessible access.
- Event Type:Â Public-invited events
This option helps encourage smaller community programs and activities that are open and accessible to the public.
Event Setup & Facility Equipment
The following setup, furniture, and equipment are available for all events, subject to availability:
Auditorium Seating:Â Approximately 350 chairs are available for auditorium-style seating.
Food Seating:Â Approximately 150 chairs are available for food/dining-style seating.
Tables:Â 10 rectangular tables are available.
Audio System: An audio system with 8 microphones is available. Operating instructions are provided in the audio room. A Temple EC member will demonstrate the operation of the audio system before the agreed-upon event start time. The Temple EC member’s presence during the event is not guaranteed, and event organizers are responsible for operating the equipment during the event.
Tents: One 20′ Ă— 40′ tent and One 10′ Ă— 20′ tent are available for rental, subject to availability. Please contact the Facilities Chair for rental pricing and the tent setup instructions document. The renter is responsible for the complete setup, dismantling, and returning of the tents to the designated storage area after use.
Return of Setup:Â Before and after the event, the arrangement of chairs and tables must be maintained/restored to the same setup and condition as when the facility was occupied. Event organizers are responsible for returning the furniture to its original arrangement.
Facility Use Guidelines
All facility reservations are subject to availability and approval by the Eastern Iowa Hindu Temple & Cultural Center. Events must comply with the Temple’s policies, guidelines, and expectations for appropriate use of the facility. Additional requirements, including setup, cleanup, decorations, and facility-use rules, may apply depending on the type and nature of the event.
