The Hindu Temple Association of Eastern Iowa conducts the Lord Ganesha Abhishekam ceremony on Sankatahara Chaturthi, a sacred day dedicated to Lord Ganesha. This special event is a time for devotees to seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings for the removal of obstacles and to invoke his grace for prosperity, health, and success.
- From March to October, the Abhishekam takes place at 6:30 PM.
- From November to February, the Abhishekam is held at 6:00 PM.
During the Abhishekam, Lord Ganesha is bathed in sacred substances, adorned, and worshipped with devotion. This monthly ritual brings the community together for spiritual growth, collective prayers, and peace. All devotees are invited to participate and offer their prayers to Lord Ganesha during this auspicious occasion.
